DISCLAIMER

In the context of the urgent need for ventilators under the current Corona crisis, VUB believes it is important to make every effort to design a ventilator to help patients affected by COVID-19.
Part of this effort is to make our design files available to other groups trying to replicate our work or use our work as a bootstrap for their own development work.

VUB cannot be held liable if the hoped-for results are not achieved.
The current iteration has not been certified, or sufficiently tested to use.

It should be understood this is a work-in-progress, not a finished product.
Without the current sense of urgency we would delay publishing until sufficient testing and validation had been done.

ELECTRONIC DESIGN FILES

Electronic design files consist of 3 sensor boards, a battery charger and a custom shield/motherboard that attaches to an Arduino Mega. The machine connects to a PC and all controls are set from the PC.

An earlier/parallel version (Prototype 5) uses a motherboard with a screen & buttons to allow for controls to be set on the machine itself.
